Fantasy Football Projections: Texans-Jaguars

When your team can’t, fantasy can.

Through the years, one thing our site hasn’t focused on is fantasy football. It’s a favorite topic across all football fans and can be a morale lift for fans with....less to watch on a weekly basis. For your Houston Texans, this may be one of those years. But fear not. The beauty of fantasy football is that you can cheer on a player from your favorite team or otherwise.

As Texans fans, most likely the only player you’ll week-in-week-out look to start in 2021 is Brandin Cooks. He’s the most established weapon on Houston’s offense and has far and away the best skillset. We expect the Texans to be playing from behind for most of the year, which means Cooks is a prime garbage points collector.

From a Jacksonville perspective, many savvy fantasy owners will be keen on picking up any of the opposing defenses that face the Texans. Jacksonville’s defense should be poised to maintain a low score and can cause turnovers against a finicky offense. Marvin Jones Jr. is an intriguing potential flex player, along with D.J. Chark; either one will be one-on-one against a subpar Houston corner playing in a new system. We project a limited passing attack and even distribution between the two receivers, but don’t be surprised if one gets the bulk.

Final note before this takes off: If you have feedback or ideas to improve this post, let us know. It can be tailored and retrofitted more than the Texans’ 53 man roster this season.
