Week 18 Sunday Afternoon/Evening Open Thread with Picks

I’m enjoying a lovely tropical drink after last night’s Texans win.

Hello all you guys, gals, and non-binary pals, and welcome to the final week of the regular season.

Ordinarily, we’d still be going over the post-mortem of the Houston Texans season but, um, ::clears throat:: that has been postponed for the foreseeable future.

Because the Houston Texans’ dream season rolls on after clinching a spot in the playoffs last night.

The only thing left to determine now is who the Texans play and where.

So since there’s no Texans game today, here are the broadcast maps for all of Week 18 from 506 Sports.

Red: Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee BESFs (Kevin Harlan, Trent Green)
Blue: Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (Andrew Catalon, Tiki Barber, Matt Ryan)
Green: Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals (Tom McCarthy, James Lofton, Jay Feely)

Red: Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (Jim Nantz, Tony Romo)
Blue: Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants (Ian Eagle, Charles Davis)
Green: Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta)

Red: Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions (Joe Davis, Daryl Johnston)
Blue: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers (Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma)
Green: New York Jets at New England Patriots (Chris Myers, Robert Smith)

Red: Dallas Cowboys at Washington Commanders (Kevin Burkhardt, Greg Olsen)
Blue: Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (Adam Amin, Mark Schlereth)
Green: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals (Kevin Kugler, Mark Sanchez)
Yellow: Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders (Jason Benetti, Matt Millen)

The only game of relevance on this slate for Houston Texans purposes is the other AFC South game: Jags/BESFs. We’ll find out the results of that one early and then slog through the rest of the day until SNF when we finally get our playoff path.

And here are my picks for this slate from DraftKings Sportsbook.

Yes, I took the Traitors. Yes, I feel dirty about it. The things you do for a home playoff game, y’know?

Go Texans.
