A few years ago, the AFC South was dominated by the Texans and Colts. Then injuries, ineptitude, and infighting brought both franchises low. Today’s matchup sees an 0-3 team (ours, sadly) challenge a 1-2 team, so it’s unlikely the AFC South Champion is going to be on display at Lucas Oil Stadium this afternoon.
This game could be tricky, for both teams. The Texans produce more passing and rushing yards, but the Colts end up with more points, third-down conversions, and time of possession. The Texans’ vaunted defense surrenders more passing yards, rushing yards, and points than the Colts’ defense, which is staffed by a bunch of men you likely have never heard of.
This season hasn’t started the way Texans fans have hoped, and there is the very real chance that the season could get out of hand should adjustments not be made. We’ll be watching today looking for improvements in terms of eliminating penalties, putting points on the board when we’re in the red zone, and in the production we get out of J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Whitney Mercilus.
What are you looking for, folks? What are you afraid you’ll see? This is where we chit-chat until the action starts. Feel free to post comments, recipes, etc., in the comments below before the first quarter thread publishes at 11:45 a.m.
