Countdown To Kickoff: Texans v. Chiefs

Just a berth in the AFC Championship Game and the right to host it on the line. No big deal.

The divisional round of the NFL Playoffs, which just so happens to be where the Texans find themselves today, is the furthest this franchise has ever advanced in the postseason. If they beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium this afternoon, they’ll qualify for a spot in the AFC Championship Game next Sunday against the Ravens in Baltimore. Titans which, thanks to Tennessee’s upset of Baltimore last night, will take place at either NRG Stadium or Arrowhead.

In other words, win today and you host the game that determines which team represents the AFC in the Super Bowl on February 2nd. It does get bigger than this, but not by much.

A post disclosing who won’t suit up today for the Texans and Chiefs should go up sometime between 12:30 and 1 p.m. CST, and the first quarter thread will publish at 1:50 p.m. With that, the Comments to this post are now open for business.
