Both the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans are sitting on an 0-3 goose egg. The Vikings were crushed by Green Bay and Indianapolis, and lost a close game to Tennessee, but, hey, at least they weren’t crushed by COVID-19. Houston lost to three of the four best teams in the AFC in Kansas City, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh; last week they finally had a lead, and actually played a close game for once. Moral victories. Fun!
Only four teams have ever made the playoffs after starting 0-3. The Texans were the last team to do it in 2018. The creation of the #7 seed in the NFL Playoffs may make this feat occur more often instead of close to never, but regardless, it’s an almost impossible feat to pull off.
0-4 is the final scoop of dirt. Today is a must-win game for both the Texans and Vikings, who were playoff hopefuls entering this season. On top of that, it’s the Gary Kubiak’s REVENGE game.
