Countdown To Kickoff: Texans v. Cardinals

J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins are going to make the Texans look even stupider today, aren’t they?

It’s hard to imagine that any final score this season could be worse than the 40-0 thrashing the Bills laid upon the Texans a few weeks ago, but what awaits the Texans in Glendale this afternoon could take the crown. The Cardinals are 6-0 and look as good as any team in the NFL. You know DeAndre Hopkins and J.J. Watt are frothing at the mouth, giddy at the opportunity to remind their former employer precisely how poorly everything at NRG Park is run. Mercy seems like a concept better saved for another day.

Candidly, there is zero reason to believe the Texans are going to do anything today except get ROLLED. It’s a one-sided match-up on paper, and the emotional edge won’t be close either. This could be one of those games that joins the pantheon of all-time Texans embarrassments. If nothing else, it should serve as yet another stark reminder that the Texans are nowhere near a competitive football team and/or competent organization.

Feel free to discuss that or any other pre-game thoughts rattling around in your noggin in the space below. The game thread for Texans-Cardinals will post at 3:15 p.m. CDT. Until then, enjoy what I hope is a beautiful Sunday.
