When defensive backs coach Anthony Midget left the Texans to take the same position on Mike Vrabel’s staff with the Titans, the Texans responded by promoting assistant defensive backs coach D’Anton Lynn to defensive backs coach. Lynn’s bump up created an opening, and Bill O’Brien has filled it by hiring the cornerbacks coach from Indiana State.

I’ll say this for Deon Broomfield: He updates his LinkedIn profile with a quickness I hope he transfers to Houston’s DBs on the football field. While Broomfield is quite young and doesn’t have much in the way of coaching experience at big-time schools, much less the NFL, he was a starting corner at Iowa State and signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent before beginning his coaching career in 2015.
If you have any insight into the newest member of the Texans’ coaching staff, please share it below.
