Finally.
The #Texans have officially requested an interview with #Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, source said. Already a busy candidate, Bieniemy adds another to his list.

But the Texans managed to wait too long to lodge the request, so they won’t get to talk with Eric Bieniemy until the Chiefs are eliminated from the NFL Playoffs or after the Super Bowl.
Houston will have to wait: Based on the anti-tampering policy, the initial interview window for Eric Bieniemy closed Sunday, so the #Texans aren't permitted to interview him until the #Chiefs lose or after the Super Bowl, whichever comes first. https://t.co/6zMHwxmcFC

Keep in mind that this presumes Bieniemy actually wants to interview with the Texans. Bieniemy may well take offense at how the Texans weren’t even interested in talking to him until now. He could view this as a naked and hollow attempt by the franchise to curry favor with Deshaun Watson. Or if you believe Christian Fauria’s intel, Bieniemy might simply want nothing to do with the dysfunction that’s taken up residence at NRG Park.
According to @christianfauria of @WEEI, "Eric Bieniemy wants nothing to do with that job and will not take that job" with the #Texans. pic.twitter.com/Oo4yURUogW

Any one of those would be sufficient reason for Bieniemy to follow Matt Eberflus’ lead and decline the Texans’ interview request. While the Texans have finally done what they should have done weeks ago, it remains to be seen whether Eric Bieniemy would entertain becoming the next head coach in Houston.
