Just in case you were feeling too good about the Texans’ matchup with the Lions tomorrow in Detroit, it appears that they’re going to be awfully thin at wide receiver this week.
Houston #Texans WR Randall Cobb (toe), FB Cullen Gillaspia (back), DT P.J. Hall (knee / shoulder), QB Josh McCown (illness) and WR Kenny Stills (quadricep) will not travel with the team to Detroit and have been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Lions. #HOUvsDET

We already knew P.J. Hall was done for the season. Hearing Kenny Stills won’t play tomorrow, coupled with confirmation that Randall Cobb is heading for Injured Reserve for at least three weeks, is disconcerting. The Texans will promote Steven Mitchell Jr. from the practice squad to take Cobb’s spot.

Brandin Cooks, Will Fuller, and whichever Houston tight end’s turn it is to be a primary receiving threat this week will have to come up big for Deshaun Watson tomorrow.
