The Houston Texans are set to play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in a crucial AFC South matchup, but they will be doing so without arguably their best player, according to Coty Davis of Texans Daily.

C.J. Stroud, who suffered a concussion in last week’s game against the New York Jets, will be out for Sunday’s game as he still remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

With Stroud out, Davis Mills will get his first start of the season. Mills started 15 games for the Texans in 2022.

The Texans come into the game banged up beyond belief, as they will also be missing defensive end Will Anderson, wide receiver Nico Collins (calf), linebacker Blake Cashman (hamstring) and defensive back Tavierre Thomas (hamstring). It’s coming at the worst time possible with the Texans at 7-6, tied for the final AFC Wild Card spot with five other teams.

The Texans and Titans are set to kick off at 12 noon on Sunday inside Nissan Stadium.
