Being named the top defensive player in one’s conference is always cause for celebration, but especially so when one is trying to get a new contract that will place one in the rarefied air currently occupied by Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald’s recent extensions.

Congrats to Jadeveon Clowney on this honor. He was a beast against the Colts; his overtime sack of Andrew Luck on Indianapolis’ final ill-fated drive was the reason the Colts found themselves on fourth down to begin with. Quenton Nelson certainly won’t forget his encounter with Clowney:
