It looks like the Flying Dutchman is interviewing its first potential new captain. ESPN analyst Louis Riddick interviewing for the Texans’ GM opening today.
ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Louis Riddick is interviewing today for the Houston Texans’ general manager job, sources tell @mortreport and me. Riddick then is scheduled to interview Friday for the Lions’ GM job.

Riddick played in the NFL for six years through 1992-1998. After his playing days were over, he worked as a scout for the Washington Football Team before eventually being named Director of Pro Personnel. He held the same positions with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2008-2013.
Lately, Riddick has been an analyst for ESPN and has been a part of Monday Night Football’s coverage team. He is widely regarded as having solid football knowledge and an ability to connect with people across an organization, from players to owner(s).
With Riddick having had experience in the world of personnel evaluation, I think he might be ripe for a chance here. He reportedly interviewed for GM gigs with the Giants and 49ers back in 2017, and he’s scheduled to meet with the Lions about their GM opening on Friday. If Riddick makes it to Detroit, I’m not sure the Texans will have time to circle back to him.
How do you feel about Louis Riddick as the next Houston Texans general manager?
