2020 NFL Free Agency: Houston Texans Re-Sign Brandon Dunn to Three-Year Contract

Does Dunn staying in Houston mean D.J. Reader is definitely on his way out?

Your Houston Texans agreed to a contract extension with a defensive tackle about to hit free agency. Alas, said DT’s name is not D.J. Reader.

Aaron Wilson reports that Brandon Dunn’s new contract with the Texans is for three years and $12,000,000.00, though I’ve yet to read anything about how much of that $12 million is guaranteed.

I was doubtful that the Texans would fork over the kind of money it’ll surely take to keep Reader in steel blue, battle red, and liberty white; the decision to pay Dunn only strengthens that doubt. What’s your reaction to the news that Dunn is in Houston’s plans for 2020 and perhaps beyond?

UPDATE: Aaron Wilson has the terms of Dunn’s new deal. $4,000,000.00 of the $12,000,000.00 is guaranteed.
