The 2020 NFL Draft is history. Done. Finito. We know who our newest Houston Texans are, and we know how the media has graded them. Since 2020 is over, we can begin to look forward to the upcoming season, right?
WRONG! The 2021 Draft must be the focus now. There is no draft season. It’s all-season. While I don’t have any analysis on Houston’s next draft class, I do have some valuable information that is surefire gold for 2021. As of today, your Houston Texans will be running with eight draft picks next year.
- 3rd round pick
- 4th round pick (from Arizona)
- 4th round pick
- 5th round pick
- 6th round pick (from Miami)
- 6th round pick (from New Orleans)
- 6th round pick
- 7th round pick
Now, this isn’t factoring in any potential compensatory picks that the team may receive. There are media members who are projecting a potential third round compensatory pick for losing D.J Reader to the Bengals. With the lack of a first and second round pick in 2021 thanks to the Laremy Tunsil/Kenny Stills trade, an extra third rounder would really help.
How do you feel about next year’s potential haul? Are there any prospects that you're already excited about? Should we think about trading into the second round? Should we give up some of this draft capital for a player? Answer those questions and more in the comments.
