The Texans trailed 13-0 in the second quarter after a Case Keenum pick-6, but they were able to stay in the game with cohesive drives chipping away at the deficit.
The Texans had three field goals and a touchdown to receiver Noah Brown before the end of regulation and were able to hold on.
In overtime, the Texans kept pressure on the Titans and sacked Will Levis to get the ball back with just under two minutes remaining.
In Houston’s final possession, Keenum found Devin Singletary for a massive gain close to Tennessee territory and the team was able to march into field goal range for a Ka’imi Fairbairn 54-yard field goal.
In his first game back since Week 8, Fairbairn couldn’t have been more clutch, putting 13 of Houston’s 19 points on the scoreboard. In Keenum’s first start since Week 18 in the 2021 season, he threw for 229 yards and a touchdown.
The Texans are back in action on Christmas Eve when they host the Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
