  • OT Tytus Howard left yesterday’s game with a concussion after playing 19 offensive snaps (28%). He was replaced by backup tackle Roderick Johnson, who played 52 offensive snaps (75%).
  • TE Kahale Warring caught his first two NFL passes yesterday (for 32 yards) in 12 offensive snaps (17%).
  • There weren’t a whole lot of defensive substitutions for the Houston Texans yesterday. A season-high seven defensive players played every defensive snap (Lonnie Johnson, Zach Cunningham, Eric Murray, Tyrell Adams, Vernon Hargreaves III, Keion Crossen, and J.J. Watt)
  • Undrafted West Georgia DT Auzoyah Alufohai made his NFL debut yesterday, getting 15 defensive snaps (28%). He even out-snapped rookie second-round pick Ross Blacklock, who played just seven defensive snaps (13%).
  • Backup running backs Buddy Howell and Scottie Phillips found themselves getting involved in Houston’s offense yesterday. In 10 offensive snaps (14%), Howell ran the ball five times for 22 yards. In four offensive snaps (6%), Phillips ran the ball twice for nine yards and caught a pass for seven yards.
