It all comes down to this.
After a late start to the Big Ten season, Ohio State finished the year just 7-0 and look to be the first national champion with eight wins or less since the Buckeyes accomplished the feat back in 1961, nearly 60 years ago. The team’s abbreviated schedule and sketchy performance against Northwestern in the Big Ten title game made them major underdogs for the Sugar Bowl against Clemson, but the Buckeyes silenced the doubters with a convincing 49-28 victory.
Meanwhile, Alabama is returning to the title game after missing out on the festivities last year. It’s the school’s fifth title game appearance in the last six seasons. Alabama has made easy work of their schedule and come into tonight’s game with an unblemished 12-0 record. The Crimson Tide have been ranked in the top two all year long.
Can they cap off a perfect season with a win tonight?
